Stone Mountain Village
and Stone Mountain State Park both hold a number of special events throughout the year. Some are annual events; others are ongoing throughout the summer season. The following is a list of the major events starting in spring and running through the end of the year.
Annual Easter Sunrise Service in Stone Mountain State Park.
Latino Fair, usually held in April.
Georgia Frontier Days in Stone Mountain Park – held the last week of April.
Stone Mountain Village Historic Walking Tour – An annual event with activities all month long in May, including guided walking tours of the historic homes and buildings in town.
Stone Mountain Village Walk & Wine Tour – a unique event that is free to the public. Local restaurants, galleries and shops are highlighted and participants in the tour will offer a sampling of various wines and discounts on merchandise. This event is usually held the end of June.
Annual Stone Mountain Village Arts & Crafts Festival – crafters from around the country exhibit their arts and crafts throughout the town. Food and entertainment are also part of the festivities.
Stone Mountain Village Fourth of July Race & Parade and the Fantastic Fourth of July Celebration in Stone Mountain Park.
The Main Street Arts Expo featuring the best in fine arts, crafts and performing artists, with special activities for children – usually held in mid- September.
Annual Yellow Daisy Festival inside Stone Mountain Park – September.
Pumpkin Festival in the Park – runs Fridays through Sundays from the last week of September to the end of October.
The Annual Pow Wow & Indian Festival in the Park.
The Highland Games and Scottish Festival – Stone Mountain Park hosts this event where Scots from around the world gather in their family tartans to the sound of bagpipe music floating through the woods and meadows. Competitive events, music, vendors and arts & crafts are a part of the celebration. One of the largest events of this type in the country, held in mid-October.
Hometown Holiday Celebration in Stone Mountain Village – runs November through December. Features candlelight shopping, holiday parades, tree lighting and breakfast with Santa.
A Southern Christmas – Stone Mountain State Park, runs mid-November through the end of December.
